HACKBERRY LIVE EDGE DISH

This tiny piece of Hackberry makes for the perfect little jewelry dish. 
Hackberry is not native to my area so it was a real treat to work with a new species. Wonderful grain with a beautiful yellow undertone.. the grain is so striking it gives the illusion that one side of the piece is sloping downward. 
I usually work on a larger scale but I’ve been tied up with a restoration project- which I love-among other things that don’t leave much time for the lathe. It’s amazing how fitting in time for a small project can be so energizing.
